Noughties Revival #2: Madison Avenue x Don’t Call me Baby

Italo-Disco has long been a choice source of sample material, for bands all sides of the genre lines. People like Washed Out even managed to build entire EPs on small snippets of Italian magic. Madison Avenue made a better choice than most when they lifted Pino D’Angio’s weightless bassline from Mais Quelle Idee;couple it with a slick backbeat and a nice set of vaguely feminist lyrics and you’ve got what’s termed in the industry to be a ‘party starter’.
